War
War, a necessary force that must be used for the freedom, justice, and advancement of a country. In my time I fought in very important wars and I can tell you that were it not for these wars the United States of America would not be what it is today. I hear many arguments to my belief on war: Life is lost, there's other ways, and that it is brutish and primitive. Although war is not always the best answer, a leader and a well established government must both realize that sometimes sacrifices must be made for the better of a country. Sometimes war is the only way to show that you're a force to be reckoned with and that you can stand on your own two feet. I once said: "Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master." Ultimately I agree that peacetime is better for everyone and that is God's utmost intentions--a time of peace and understanding. But it's important to understand that "to be prepared for war is one of the most effective means of preserving peace".

I believe that war is a tool to be used to control a group that is unruly. I agree with you, Washington, that war is not always the best option, but it is a strong choice to make when civilians are in danger and the lives of our American people are in danger. I do nor want to engage in war that is trivial. If I start a war, I want it to have a very strong meaning and purpose. I never want to invade a country on a suspicion that there may be civil unrest. I want to know for sure. Washington, you do make a good point, that war is a way to show that you are a force to be reckoned with, which i do believe is true. If people do not listen to you, you may yell, to show them it is important to listen. With war, it may be that a powerful dictator is not following the rules and hurting his people, then I feel I must put my foot down. Hurting civilians is not acceptable in any book of mine. As a whole, very good points, Washington. Very mush enjoyed reading it.
ReplyDeleteWar is never the answer. War is the result of disagreements over things that each party believes to be right; a dispute over land, being in content with each other due to religious or political differences. One must let go of all physical items and remember that suffering comes for annihilation and the need for things, once one lets go of all these attributes suffering starts coming to an end. I too trained in the arts of war and now I realize that war isn't moderation, war strays from the eightfold path.
ReplyDeleteI believe war is necessary in certain situations. When your country is wronged or when it is for the better is just some of them. There are times when people will not listen to reason or when words are not enough to solve the problem. When an enemy will or has done harm to your people, you cannot just let it slide, you need to fight and protect them. This is what a leader does. So i agree with Obama, war can be used as a tool to help calm countries out of control. War is a necessary evil, it will always happen.
ReplyDeleteYeah! Yeah war is good, it'll teach 'em commies not to deal with us. We Americans are the most beautiful and strong people there is, and we can't let the world forget that. I once told my daughter "There's nothing more threatening to a man than a woman who's smart and attractive; we have to pretend you're both! " We have to ally with the strong ones, we don't want to have to take on them, like them Russians, I like them they have a sense of authority to them, they're probably the best anti-commy group out there those Russians. War is all about who you know and if we ally with the right guys we can't lose. I should be made general, I've fought in lots of wars and have the know how to lead these men.
ReplyDeleteWar is something that is inevitable if it is meant to happen. War is a strategy that, in my eyes, should be used as often as possible. War shows a great deal of strength for a nation and shows that the nation has power. Power is what nation's like the Americas want. Everyone in America wants power. So, we shall give them power. I want to run for president in 2016, and I feel that engaging in warfare with opposing countries is a good way to end arguments and really so everyone that America is the boss. America holds rank in the world and should be treated in that sense. America is the greatest nation. Let's fire up some guns and get to establishin' that all over the world.
ReplyDeleteI believe War is also inevitable, there are many times when an enemy will not listen. When you have to protect the things you hold dear, when war is the only answer. When someone is a threat, you cannot just ignore them, you make them fix up their act or show them what you'll do if they don't. Don't think i am glorifying war, because it is horrible and many people get hurt. But sometimes sacrifices need to be made to protect the future.
ReplyDeleteIma speak my mind here. While I am a believer in peace, I also believe that war is necessary at times to prove who is superior. I would declare war on the whole world if I could. But no one man should have all that power. The strong always conquer the weak and this is the way the world progresses. It's a matter of natural selection. Some of the most influential leaders in history have been former generals. I strongly believe that I am a reincarnation of a military leader. Maybe Leonidas or Napolean.
